Implementing Earned Discharge
The Transforming Justice Coalition is dedicated to collaborating with community partners and corrections agencies to effectively implement Oregon's Senate Bill 581.
Passed during the 2023 legislative session, this bill seeks to reduce mass supervision — including parole, probation, and post-incarceration supervision — by expanding eligibility for early discharge. With the potential to qualify up to 5,000 more Oregonians for reduced supervision time, this initiative paves the way for their successful reintegration.
And, we are educating communities on the earned discharge program and how to advocate for their success on community supervision.
Education: Advocating for your success on community supervision workshops
We host community workshops educating people about how to advocate for their success on community supervision and the earned discharge program.
Developing a Success Plan for Individuals on Community Supervision
The Transforming Justice Coalition worked in partnership with the Oregon Department of Corrections to develop a brochure aimed at assisting people on probation and parole, alongside their officers, in creating a success plan. This initiative is designed to enable people to fulfill their supervision requirements effectively and adequately prepare for their reentry journey by utilizing the resources provided.
